Workshop 3
Thursday, 1:30 - 3:00
Organizing Teacher Resources
Boardroom
Dave DeStefano & Jessy Larwa
Do you ever wish there was more than one of you? Well now there can be! In this workshop, Dave and Jessy will show you how to digitize your lessons and materials in order to make them more accessible to students and parents. Use these resources in your lesson, but also later for review or make-up work.
Formative Assessments with Digital Games
301
Megan Hatfield & Mike McCormick
Bring some fun and competition into your classroom reviews. In this workshop, you will get to play and later create games using FlipQuiz, Kahoot, Quizizz and Quizlet.live. These web resources are great for classrooms with one device, just a few devices or are one to one. Games are a great alternative way to present repetitious but necessary tasks such as multiplication tables or vocabulary or just for review. Join us for a workshop designed to give you fun options for formative assessment.
Creating Projects with Secondary Students
302
Mary DePriest
No more poster board! This workshop will give you options to make your student projects creative and collaborative. Students are excited and motivated when their digital projects can be shared, even via social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. These websites are free, easy to use and will bring some pizzazz to your next student project. Workshop attendees will have the opportunity to create sample projects using the following resources: Easel.ly, Thinglink, VoiceThread, Powtoon and Sway.
Creating Projects with Elementary Students
303
Josh Stark & Morgan Neccuzi
In this workshop, Josh and Morgan will present a number of websites you can use to foster creativity and collaboration in your students. Elementary students are so proud of their projects. When projects are created digitally, they can be shared via email or link and saving them is a snap. Participants will be able to experiment with the resources presented to begin to see all the possibilities of these digital tools.
